SITE PROPOSALS FOR THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION

In 2023, Daniel researched three sites to propose to the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Artist Homes and Studios division for recognition as Historic Sites. Their proposals highlighted longtime Pilsen Community Art Space "Casa Aztlan, historically queer tattoo shop "The Chicago Tattooing & Piercing Co.", and the historic birthplace of House Music "The Warehouse".

In each location, Danster explored how the legacy of each space is impacted by the pressures of liminality that forced the temporal "space" to close while leaving behind the physical "place". Daniel's full report can be found through the link below.
